In my article i described the Internet Explorer Security zones for sysadmins. One of the most useful troubleshooting steps when a web app was failing was to check which zone that site actually was in by checking the bottom of IE. Why? Because if you’re running GPO to control the zone assignment, the actual config is locked and you can’t check it manually.

But what about Internet Explorer 9? Where did this bar go in IE9? Well, they decided to remove it for a cleaner look – seems like I’m not the only one who miss it.

To access it, right-click the top toolbar and select to show Menu bar.

Then you’ll see a new menu. Select File -> Properties:

And there you’ll find the info you’re looking for.
